Pridefloat Campground Information

You are not too far away from civilization. The 2 bathrooms / shower-houses are flush toilets with free hot showers and electrical outlets for shavers and hair dryers, and a General Store for ice, beer, firewood and limited food. There is ONE electrical outlet for things like air compressors located at the shower houses. Lebanon MO is 25 minutes away and you will find necessary camping supplies there. The nearest motel is SAND SPRINGS RESORT and is 10 minutes from the campground (There is a good restaurant here also!) Our hosts are quite gay friendly and take good care of our "special" group. We have been going there for a number of years now. They like us. We camp in a very private, gated, and secluded area away from the "Hetero" area.

Generators over 85 decibels will be allowed to run from NOON To 7 PM ONLY. Generators below 85 decibels should only be operating from 9am to 9pm.

If this will be problem for you, please consider other options.

If you have a medical need for air-conditioning, we suggest you look into renting a motor home, or an area motel room.

This is an issue of respect and consideration of your camping neighbors who do not come to Pridefloat to listen to loud generators all weekend long!

Please be considerate of other campers and do not bring a loud old generator. Honda generators (inverters) are VERY quiet.

The river is very refreshing on a hot day. However, the campground owners have asked us to NOT COME TO THE RIVER ON SATURDAY UNTIL AFTER 1PM because of the congestion in the area. they are trying to run a business getting canoes and rafts in and out of the river. Friday and Saturday usually finds a group of us in the river all day drinking, socializing, swimming and enjoying the rope swing.

Trout fishing is 15 minutes away at Bennet Spring State Park which is also a Rainbow Trout hatchery built as part of the WCC in the 1930’s. There is a nice Dining Lodge there (built in 1932) that will prepare and cook your trout catch for you!

Pomme De Terre Lake is a 30 minute drive for more fishing options.
